Key industry partners with Auckland Institute of Studies (AIS)

At the AIS Careers Expo 2018, students and alumni had great opportunities to meet with representatives from CPA Australia and New Zealand, MYOB, Amora Hotel, Focus Marketing, Absolute IT Recruitment, Link2Group, New Zealand Internships and more.
Alarna Asher, Manager of the Student Careers Centre, has been working along side these companies to connect AIS students with industry internships. These internships are vital for students to gain local work experience and learn hands-on skills in the workplace.
Marcel Roos – Global Account Director at New Zealand Internships said:
We are here today at the AIS Careers Expo to talk with all the students about the possibilities that we can offer them, the potential companies that we can place them with, and also the career path that they may choose. So this event is a great opportunity to talk with them and meet with them.
Link2Group and Focus Marketing are also companies which recruit many AIS students and alumni for work. Relevant part-time work is essential for students to put in their CVs and gain full-time employment upon graduation.
Jiga Kachhia – Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator of Link2Services said:
I joined AIS as a student of Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration in 2014 and I started my career in New Zealand with Link2Services. Now it is exciting that I am on the other side, I am the employer and recruiting staff for this company.
Students gain insight to the industries from potential employers
AIS students were encouraged to bring along their CVs to the expo to share with potential employers. The expo provides a great opportunity to talk and raise any questions about potential employment within the industry. Many industry sectors were represented by companies such as ANZ Bank, Flight Centre, MYOB, AbsoluteIT and CPA Australia.
Lisa Cooley – Business Manager at AbsoluteIT Recruitment stated:
The I.T. market is always changing, evolving. As a result, students need to keep their skills up-to-date, constantly be learning, up-skilling, lots of personal projects. You will find that it will really help you to connect with employment. I.T. is a buoyant and really exciting market!
AIS students were very eager to participate in the event.
